The Fish

The cat’s superego stays the same throughout the story. Throughout the story he is also speciation, keeping comments to himself and tries to influence the kids on what they should be doing. In the beginning, middle and end I will explain the perception of the cat.

In the beginning of the story the cat is aware the kids our bored but understands whatever they do the kids must stay under control. But as soon as he thought everything was okay a cat came in the house uninvited.

When the cat approached the kids and saw they weren’t doing anything fun he began to start a dangerous challenge game to get then kids fired up by balancing delicate objects in the air standing on a big ball. The fish was very upset with what the cat because he started a game that can harm the kids and possibly destroy the house. But the fish understands the kids need to have fun. As you can see the cat still has the superego in and thinks the kids needs to get over their id and at least get into their ego stage.

During the end of the story the cat made a huge mess with game he was playing and the mom was on her way home. The fish had a feeling this was going to happen but he was still trapped in that small fish bowl having no say on what’s right or wrong but, he can only try to influence what the kids should be doing to stay safe and make their mother happy.

As you can see the fish stays with his super ego throughout the story because he feels that the kids needed some proper influence in their lives. It really did work in the beginning of the story to the middle but in the end the story started to change around and the kids did what was right.
